Follow on Google News | New KidSpirit Department Showcases Fiction by Young WritersBy: KidSpirit KidSpirit, which is led by a network of 150 editors ages 11-17 from across the US and several other countries, provides writers, artists, poets, and filmmakers a platform to exchange ideas on meaningful youth-chosen topics, such as resilience, nature, power, unity, heritage, and ethics. The Fiction section offers an important new outlet for youth creativity, alongside departments for expository writing, personal narratives, media reviews, poetry, art, and video. The Fiction department launches this week with a unique series of linked short stories in the spring "Time and Space" issue. Each week, KidSpirit will publish another piece that begins with the last line of the preceding story. The inaugural installment, released this week, features an imaginative and beautifully woven tale by a high school student from Tennessee. Future entries will come from teens in Jordan, India, and New York. A young artist from Paraguay completes the piece with striking artwork. KidSpirit's network of editors and contributors are excited to have another avenue to share their voices and talents with the world. In the upcoming summer issue on the theme "Who Am I?", which launches in June, readers will discover the work of creative writers from Puerto Rico, China, Australia, and the UK. KidSpirit is a unique forum for young people of all backgrounds and traditions to explore life's big questions in an open spirit.
