"Forced into seclusion, accepting solitude and re-emerging from isolation; my illuminations symbolically capture our human transition through the flow of nature" Chong shares "Stumps and trees radiate their true auras, seedlings glow and burst with everlasting spirits and landscapes open as vibrating apparitions, metaphorical illusions or signposts to the next path." Chong says "My art practice has become a transformational reflection through the light of creation, life, decay, death and rebirth."

A fourth-generation Chinese-Canadian, Garrett Andrew Chong was born in Armstrong, BC, in the early 60's and graduated with honours from ECUAD (Emily Carr University & Design) in the mid 80's. His pieces capture the auras, energies and "unseen light" within spaces, forms and living beings.
