AITO Partners with Carbon offset specialist Fenix Carbon

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - March 14, 2023 - PRLog -- Carbon offset specialist Fenix Carbon has become the recommended partner for AITO, the specialist travel association, the largest independent travel trade body in the UK.

The relationship was initiated by AITO Council Member and Fleewinter MD Alisdair Luxmoore, who said: "I was determined to forge this relationship with Fenix Carbon for AITO because, quite frankly, we should have been doing something along these lines a while ago.

Fenix Carbon has developed an exclusive offsetting portfolio for AITO's 120 members, which will be used as the basis of their carbon neutrality, with travel agents able to purchase verified carbon credits on behalf of their customers at the point of sale.

In addition, Fenix Carbon will be providing exclusive training, webinars, and consultation for AITO members; two of them, Fleewinter and Casas Cantabricas, have already incorporated carbon offsets into their travel packages.

The AITO portfolio is made up of a diverse range of four high quality projects, including a REDD+ forest protection scheme in Zimbabwe and a hydro-electric power station in Turkey.

Offsets can be bought at a fixed price to guard against currency fluctuations, and Fenix's real-time digital dashboard also provides clients with all the relevant documents needed to back their carbon neutrality claims, including proof of certification, removing any nagging doubts about quality and integrity.

Fenix Carbon provides a transparent and auditable link between buyers and projects — all of which are independently vetted by its in-house team and span a wide range of sustainable development goals (SDGs), including clean water provision, biodiversity protection and economic growth, giving buyers more confidence in the wider benefits of their investments.
