"L.O.V.E. Is A Special Need" Faith and Autism Panel To Be Held April 29th

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - April 12, 2023 - PRLog -- =Word of God Fellowship Church and Winnings Ways will present the "L.O.V.E Is A Special Need" Faith and Autism panel on April 29th. The event will be held at the Word of God Fellowship Church, located at 3000 Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh, from 10am to 11:30am. The panel is free and open to the public.

The panel will feature the following guests:

●      Mitchell Summerfield, Senior Pastor, Word of God Fellowship Church

●      Delon B. Fletcher, Associate Pastor, Life International RTP Church.  He is also a career public servant and outreach specialist with a proven track record of success in Federal & State government.

●      Dr. Jamie N. Pearson, Assistant Professor of Special Education,  at North Carolina State University (https://sites.google.com/ncsu.edu/facesprogram/home) and director of the Faces for Autism program.  Dr. Pearson leads a program bringing awareness to the community about autism and providing outreach to direct families on their journey.

●      Kalihah B. Fletcher, Speech-Language Pathologist and Special Needs education advocate. Fletcher brings hands-on expertise in serving and advocating for special needs education and awareness.

●      Kwame and Nakia Stringfield will moderate the panel discussion as advocates and parents of an autistic daughter.  Nakia is the author of Rewired Parenting:  Changing Your Mindset for Your Special Needs Child and the owner of See Beyond Consulting.

Pastor Summerfield and Associate Pastor Fletcher bring years of leadership in education, community outreach, advocacy, and awareness of the special needs within the black community.  The master of ceremony for the event will be Pastor Shirley Johnson of Word of God Fellowship Church.

The panel will showcase diverse perspectives of autism, including the moderators who are parents of children on the special needs spectrum. Discussion will be held around providing resources and education for special needs individuals and changing mindsets around autism in the African American community.
