Earley Statement On McCarthy Ousted as Speaker

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Oct. 3, 2023 - PRLog -- Today Veteran and Republican Congressional candidate in West Virginia's 2^nd District, Joe Earley applauded the Republicans who voted to oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker.

"Earlier this year, Speaker McCarthy negotiated the debt ceiling increase that continued out of control spending with the passage of the Fiscal Responsibility Act.  This Saturday after one vote, the Speaker sold out to the Democrats continued reckless spending with the stopgap funding bill.  First, he tried to fund the Ukraine war.  On the second vote, he put forward a Continuing Resolution that had no funds for securing the southern border and no reforms to curb reckless spending.  McCarthy broke the promises he made to support his selection as Speaker and lost the trust and faith of his counterparts.  It is time for Republicans to lead, quit kicking the can down the road, and stop selling out to the Biden agenda."
