The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture and Opulence

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - Nov. 4, 2024 - PRLog -- The V&A museum in London's South Kensington, is opening a new, major exhibition celebrating the extraordinary creative output and internationalist culture of the Golden Age of the Mughal Court (about 1560 – 1660) during the reigns of its most famous emperors: Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan.

The exhibition will run from 9 November until 5 May 2025, and include a plethora of items including paintings, jewellery, and costumes, spanning the period of the Mughal Empire.

Highlights will include a ceremonial spoon set with diamonds, rubies, and emeralds from around 1600, a portrait of Shah Jahan holding an emerald, and an inscribed spinal featuring the names of six rulers, from the mid-15th to mid-18th Centuries.
