Tourist Board draws crowds with cycle simulator at Outdoor Show

April 21, 2010 - PRLog -- The tourist board encouraged visitors to the display at the Outdoor Show in Birmingham by asking them to use a ‘computrainer’ – a cycle simulator.

The computrainer allows people to get an exact replica of how it feels to ride on the road and other terrains.

Several hundred people who visited the show tried the computrainer.

Pennine Events Limited, one of the  leading organisers of cycling events in the UK, operated the computrainer on behalf of Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board.

Mark Sandamas, Director of Pennine Events, based in Bamber Bridge, near Preston in Lancashire, said: “Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board used our computrainer to draw visitors to their display and it worked well with several hundred people trying it out.”

“The computrainer allows people to try out cycling and enjoy a virtual ride round the countryside.”

He went on: “We have run the computrainer for this organisation and many others for several years now and it always draws the crowds because it’s fun and interactive.”

“If an organisation wants to increase the number of visitors to an exhibition or trade stand or various events, the computrainer can really help.”

The company says that it also hires out another unusual bicycle at various events, called a ‘Cycle Smoothie Maker’, which creates a fresh, healthy, and tasty smoothie for those pedalling the machine, and this is equally popular.
