New Red Cross Shelter Opening for Boutwell Auditorium Residents at Faith Chapel Christian Center

May 10, 2011 - PRLog -- BIRMINGHAM, AL— The American Red Cross will be closing the Boutwell Auditorium shelter on Wednesday, May 11th at 12 p.m.  Clients still residing in the shelter will be moving to Faith Chapel Christian Center, 100 Lexington Street, in Birmingham.  Faith Chapel Christian Center has the facilities that will adequately accommodate the remaining shelter residents as they transition into more permanent housing. Transportation will be available through Faith Chapel for shelter residents relocating to Faith Chapel.

The Red Cross is working with each shelter resident to help them in the process of securing temporary housing. Agencies like HUD, HABD, United Way and FEMA are instrumental in this transition and the Red Cross has caseworkers helping those affected by the storms get assistance.
