OTTER LLC develops additional cell safety and productivity software

Oct. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- SEATTLE, WA - Today OTTER LLC announced that it is developing a suite of products to complement its successful flagship software, the OTTER app.  “We are excited about these new products that are a further extension of our mission to provide the end user the means to make their cell phone use safer and more productive,”explains Erik Wood, Founder and CEO of OTTER LLC.  

The three new products are Speed Demon, PANDA and Mob-E Assistant.  The Speed Demon app will notify parents of teens if they are in a car that exceeds a speed set by the parent.  PANDA (Parental Notification Driving Alert) will let a parent know if their teen driver is texting and driving as its happening.  And finally Mob-E- Assistant will take the flagship OTTER software to a new level by integrating automatic social messaging updates by directly interfacing with the likes of Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter and LinkedIn.

As with the launch of the original OTTER app in April 2010, all of the OTTER LLC products will continue to use speed detection and messaging to help drivers make safe choices on the highway.  “At OTTER LLC we recognize that laws don’t always change the culture,” says OTTER Co-Owner, Troy Niehaus.   “As a result, all of our software is designed to create sustainably safer drivers by putting us back in charge of how and when we use technology,” adds Niehaus.

THE PROBLEM:

Every year in the United States, Text and Drive takes over 3,000 lives on the highway and causes hundreds of thousands of non-fatal accidents.  A recent CDC report shows nearly 60% of older teens are actively texting and driving.  Allstate Insurance found that teenage drivers account for 12.6 percent of all drivers involved in fatal crashes and 55 percent of teens said they exceed the speed limit by more than 10 mph.
