Olympic South HATS and Trapeze Combine for Efficient Patient Transport Services

Jan. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Trapeze Group’s Demand Response Transport scheduling system (NOVUS for Demand Response) has been installed at Olympic (South) Ltd t/a Healthcare and Transport Services (HATS), a London-based provider of specialist transport to Local Authorities and NHS Trusts.  The system is managing Patient Transport Services and assisting the organisation’s aspirations for operational efficiencies and greener transport.

Having worked with the system since it went live on December 5 2012, HATS Director of Strategic Development, Christopher Butler is perfectly positioned to comment on the efficiencies provided by the new scheduling system: “Whilst we expected the system would enable us to achieve a small reduction in the number of specialist vehicles used to provide these services, we are equally excited about the significant reductions in congestion and pollution that better scheduling and rostering will deliver over the coming months.  So far we are on target meet or exceed all those expectations.”

Trapeze’s NOVUS DR system is currently managing Patient Transport Services to the Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, and HATS intend to expand to two other NHS Trusts in the coming months.  There is also a plan to use NOVUS DR for the organisation’s ‘Home to School’ transport service for children with Special Educational Needs: “We wanted a system which could handle the twin requirements of our Home to School and Patient Transport Services,” continued Mr Butler. “We have been working closely with Trapeze’s developers on the implementation strategy and site-specific data handling, and are very confident that the system can manage these two diverse - and equally complex - transport operations efficiently and sustainably.”
