The American Beer Classic 2013 is Coming to Chicago's Soldier Field on May 11

CHICAGO - April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- The American Beer Classic (http://www.americanbeerclassic.com/index.php), one of the premier Chicago beer festivals, will bring in beer makers from across the country to Soldier Field on May 11th. The event is scheduled to open up that day at 12 p.m. and close at 4 p.m., and should be on any beer lover’s agenda this year.

Beers from across America will be available for sampling at the American Beer Classic. Larger, widely distributed brands, like Blue Moon and Leinenkugel’s, and smaller craft breweries from Abita to Woodchuck, will be together under one roof for event goers to enjoy. The event is slated as a competition and attendees with a smartphone will be given access to a special app that will allow them to vote on which of the beers they tried were the best, making tasting even more fun. Other than beer, the event will have live entertainment and educational lectures on topics related to brewing and beer.

Tickets for the American Beer Classic, not unlike the brews on offer, come in multiple flavors. The general admission ticket grants a holder a souvenir two ounce commemorative cup for sampling the beer with and admission into the festival. General admission is currently priced at $50, but will increase to $60 on April 16. The price will increase a final time on May 6 to $70.

VIP tickets have a set price of $110, and give their holder all the same amenities of the general admission ticket, but with an added bonus of a VIP lounge, a tour of Soldier Field, and early admission at 11 a.m. The final type of ticket is for designated drivers. A designated driver ticket is $30 and gives the holder access to soft drinks, rather than beers, to sample and admission into a special lounge. All attendees of the American Beer Classic, including designated drivers, must be over 21 years of age.
