HARTFORD, Conn. - Sept. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Powerful, young educator Brandon Frame and TheBlackManCan.org  hosts its inaugural 1000 T.I.E.S Transforming Identities to Empower Society tie fundraiser Friday, September 19, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Laetus Restaurant and Lounge in Hartford, CT as the kickoff event for the TheBlackManCan Institute Fall Tour.

The tie reception is the newest addition of the Institute after successfully impacting nearly 1000 young men of color since the launch of the Institute fall of 2013 as an effort to get positive males in the community the opportunity to become involved and contribute to the lives of young black and Latino males. Entry to this one-of-a-kind fundraiser will be two new ties or three gently use ties.

Founder of TheBlackManCan.org, Brandon Frame shares, “I want TheBlackManCan Institute to touch the lives of boys and men around the world. My hope for the work I do is to be more successful in combating the negative images of Black men and boys with which we're bombarded with on a daily basis.” Frame and TheBlackManCan Institute were recently recognized at the 3rd Annual Ujima Awards and by the Boston Globe (http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2014/05/17/black-man-can...) this past spring for their youth involvement nationally and internationally.

By attending TheBlackManCan Institute, young boys of color will have their cultural needs addressed and they will be free to express themselves while fostering brotherhood. Powerful workshops and keynote speakers will empower and educate young men in attendance. All young men attending the Institute will receive ties and a copy of Brandon’s debut title, Define Yourself, Redefine the World: A Guided Journal for Black Boys and Men, which is being used as a therapeutic starting point for empowerment, self-love, and forward progress for young males.

During a time when national protests are high surrounding the deaths of Michael Brown and other black men and women who died at the hands of law enforcement, many are seeking answers about what can be done to preserve the lives of black boys and men. TheBlackManCan Institute continues to promote, create and support positive self-images of young men of color. 1000 T.I.E.S. featuring a dessert bar, cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres will honor the positive Black and Latino male image.
