Northern Roads Showcase with Elaine Overholt at CMAO Road to Independence Conference

TORONTO - Nov. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- November 20, 2014-Scarborough, ON- Northern Roads went front and center at the recent CMAO Road to Independence Conference at the Delta Hotel in Scarborough this past weekend to feature their first single off their debut album, Unspoken Words in front of Elaine Overholt.

Northern Roads rise to fame began last summer when their recently recorded album landed in the hands of Boots and Hearts founder, Shannon McNevin and shortly after they received a personal invitation from McNevin to perform at the largest country music festival in Canada, Boots & Hearts.

Northern Roads, a Canadian band from Scarborough, Ontario, formed in 2013 consists of long-time friends Connor Allen (Lead Vocals), Mitch McCartney (Guitar, vocals), Rob Almeida (Guitar, Vocals) and Matt McCartney (Percussion, Guitar, and Vocals). The band’s sound has been influenced by and compared to Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers.

The Boots & Hearts performance brought the spotlight and caught the attention of Catherine Faint and Cindy Sutch, who recently signed Northern Roads to their artist management division. This ultimately lead to the conference which featured many industry professionals from radio personalities, publicists, artist management, talent buyers, record labels and artists from the music business.

“We met some really great people at the conference and had a blast working with Elaine. The opportunity to work with such a talented coach in front of a room full of music industry people was a tremendous experience for our band. We look forward to continuing to work with her to prepare for our upcoming summer tour,” says lead singer Conner Allen.

Elaine Overholt has established herself as one of North America’s most respected and treasured singers, voice coaches and vocal producers. She has instructed and performed with celebrities of music, film and stage and after Northern Roads performance, she provided the band with her recommendations on stage presence and vocal technique.

Elaine’s gift for teaching is well known in Hollywood and Broadway. Elaine has recently coached Hollywood stars such as John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer for ‘Hairspray‘ the movie along with Richard Gere, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renée Zellweger, and Queen Latifah for the Oscar-winning ‘Chicago‘. Recently Elaine also coached Ellen Degeneres in a live segment on her hit talk-show ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show‘.

Northern Roads will be touring this summer following the release of their album at festivals and events across Ontario.
