Brooklyn Wrongful Arrest Attorney Files Complaint on Behalf of Man From Jamaica Queens Southside

NEW YORK - Feb. 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Southside Jamaica Queens man, Kitwana R. has filed his wrongful arrest complaint in Brooklyn Federal Court alleging false arrest, unlawful search and seizure, failure to intervene and unreasonable force. The case is 15-cv-559 which was filed on February 4, 2015 and includes a demand for a jury.

Allegations Within Complaint

Kitwana is a  twenty-two (22) year old man who resides in Queens County. In the early evening of January 23, 2015, he was having trouble starting his car and so his friend, along with another individual arrived to help him. All of a sudden, and without warning, numerous NYPD cars arrived on the scene and uniformed officers jumped out. One of the officers then asked the young men, "When's the last time anyone smoked marijuana?" The young men were then frisked.

Following the NYPD frisk, Kitwana asked them if they were done since he did not have anything illegal on him. Next, Kitwana's mom came outdside because she heard the commotion. A uniformed NYPD Officer then punched Kitwana in the head and about the stomach before placing him under arrest and charging him with obstructing governmental administration.
