Park Hyatt Seoul Invites Guest Bartender From Oak Door Bar At Grand Hyatt Tokyo

SEOUL, South Korea - Feb. 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Park Hyatt Seoul's premium vinyl music bar The Timber House presents a guest bartender promotion from January 26 to February 8, 2018, with Seyeram Anagbonu the head bartender of Oak Door Bar at Grand Hyatt Tokyo in Japan. Anagbonu will present a variety of his own signature cocktails featuring local Japanese ingredients and culture, and a special cocktail for The Timber House through this promotion. Prices start at KRW 28,000, including VAT, and there will be a quiz event for a lucky draw.

Seyeram Anagbonu was born in Accra, Ghana, and moved to Japan when he was nine years old. After gaining considerable experience in various restaurants and bars, he is now serving as the head bartender at the Oak Door Bar at Grand Hyatt Tokyo for four years, and has been presenting creative drinks with local products and ingredients such as cherry blossoms, yuzu, and green tea to customers. The Oak Door Bar offers a selection of seasonal cocktails and wines with snacks in a lively and intimate atmosphere.

Through this promotion, Anagbonu will showcase his own signature cocktails including Arashiyama-toucha, The 1575 Smoking Ban, and The Snow Leopard in addition to a special drink uniquely created for The Timber House. Anagbonu considers local ingredients and culture before developing his drinks, and Arashiyamatoucha is an excellent example of this philosophy. This cocktail, developed based on his trip to Arashiyama in Kyoto, is now available to the world. The another cocktail Snow Leopard is named after the nickname of Ghanaian skier Kwame Nkrumah-Acheampong, who was the first person from Ghana to take part in the Winter Olympics at the 2010 Winter Olympics Vancouver. This cocktail is made with  aged tequila, pineapple juice, vanilla bitter and honey ginger syrup, offering a tropical flavour.

He will present this brand-new cocktail, especially created for The Timber House, which is called GMK (Ghana Meets Korea). This cocktail is based on Korean soju, featuring coconut, one of the main products in Ghana, and lime, and features a harmonious balance of each ingredient connecting Ghana and Korea.

This cocktail is based on mix of Korean soju and Coconut rum. Coconut is one of the most important products in Ghana and Anagbonu wants to draw bridge between his home country and Korea. His intention is to show respect to both cultures in this drink through harmonious balance of each ingredient.

There will be a special event for guests who order Arashiyama-toucha. In the late Kamakura shogun, many tea farms were established. At that time during the tea parties, a game called Toucha in Japanese was held, which distinguished Honcha (genuine tea) from Toganoo region in Kyoto and other teas. Following this tradition, guests can guess the ingredients in Arashiyama-toucha with a chance to win the lucky draw. Winners will receive a Park Hyatt Seoul accommodation voucher or restaurant voucher.

While enjoying a variety of cocktails, guests can enjoy music played from vinyl records at The Timber House with the performance of resident DJs from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM every day except Sundays.
