Montrel Darrett Debuts New Single and Kicks Off Urban Clothing Line

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - June 3, 2020 - PRLog -- Recording Artist, Montrel Darrett, is back in the spotlight as he debuts his new single, "I Like It" on the forthcoming CD "A Soul Conversation".   The single can currently be purchased at www.mrblacksoul.com for $4.99.  Preorder purchases of the CD can also be ordered at the website for $20 each. Darrett will host a special debut performance on Saturday, June 27, at 5 pm CST on Facebook Live, performing his new single and additional songs from his new CD.

After a 15 year hiatus from music and his Canadian Grammy Award winning first CD, Chronicles of the Soul, the former Gospel singer has now transitioned to an R&B/soul sound.  His unmistaken and profound Gospel roots are now fused with elements of soul, funk, & R&B  resulting in an amazing sound reminiscent of "old school music" yet blended to conquer today's urban soul sound. Montrel's unmistakable talent is displayed on this project as each song (with the exception of guest appearances) has been written, produced and performed by him alone.

Along with his extraordinary voice, Montrel is a recognized ASCAP Writers Award winner and a Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) Hall of Fame inductee for his work with renown Gospel group, Commissioned.   While his first love is music, his genuine gift of creativity and design will soon be showcased in his new urban clothing line, Ja'Charis Fashion and Black Rose Clothing, set to debut in the Fall of 2020. In addition to this, his Entertainment company Urban Icon Entertainment 7, is set to start filming the company's first feature in January 2021.
