Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care Welcomes New Clinical Director

SHAWNEE, Kan. - Aug. 3, 2022 - PRLog -- Lisa Thompson, RN comes to Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care from Ascend Hospice where she worked for over seven years, five as the Regional Manager. As Clinical Director, Thompson will lead the office's dedicated clinical team and provide training and mentorship to new employees.

"I am excited to have Lisa Thompson, RN join our Kansas office. We look forward to working with her as she helps to oversee the direction and coordination of the clinical team as they continue to provide the ultimate level of comfort and care to our patients and their caregivers," said Beth Aguirre, LSCSW, LCSW, Executive Director, Director of Counseling Services.

Thompson graduated from nursing school at Johnson County Community College in 1986. Her diverse nursing experience includes orthopedics, oncology, neurology, and trauma. Thompson began working as a hospice case manager in 2004 and quickly realized her passion for hospice, subsequently dedicating her career to hospice nursing.

As the Clinical Director, Thompson will work in collaboration with the management staff to ensure accountability for the quality and continuity of nursing care. She will actively participate in improvement initiatives and support the nursing process – planning, organizing, and directing clinical care activities.
