Follow on Google News | ![]() KidSpirit Writers and Artists Explore the Psyche in Spring IssueBy: KidSpirit Each issue of KidSpirit revolves around a Big Question posed by the all-youth Editorial Board. This spring, the editors ask, "How does the concept of identity evolve over time?" In his response, a young writer from Australia wonders if we can ever really know ourselves at all. Other pieces released today include an article on the nature of free will, a contributor's reflection on the transformative terror of lucid dreaming, a piece about the role friends play in supporting our mental well-being, an essay about the benefits of meditation, and a short story about what we remember in our final days. Throughout the season, KidSpirit will continue to publish writing, poetry, and artwork by youth on this theme. In Features, writers cover topics ranging from athletics to philosophy. The Interfaith Connections department will feature the perspectives of young contributors in Ghana, Australia, and Pakistan. In Media, an author will review Patrick Ness's young adult novel A Monster Calls. The Fiction and Poetry departments will showcase more creative writing on the topic from lyrical young authors around the world. Each issue of KidSpirit features additional wisdom from one adult with expertise in the theme in a column called PerSpectives. This issue's author will be announced later in the season. KidSpirit is a unique forum for young people of all backgrounds and traditions to explore life's big questions in an open spirit.
