June 19, 2010 - PRLog -- The X10 follows suit with phones like the China G2 which use a OS similar (but which actually isn't) Google’s Android OS.  Does that mean this phone is any good?

Why Android's name is used with the X10 is that this phone attempts to recreate the feeling of Google’s OS in terms of home screen icons, and internal browsing.  Naturally, this phone doesn’t use a true Android OS as it lacks the processing power to pull it off.  That being said, the X10 does have some nice things going for it.

Here are a few of the basic specs the X10 boasts.

It is GSM quad band, and carrier unlocked.
It has dual SIM ports with dual standby also included.
Construction is primarily from Polycarbonate plastic.
The screen measures in at a large 3.8 inches, has 320x480 resolution, and made of TFT materials.
It weighs 95 gm.
LxWxH with phone measures 114x57x14mm.
Internet access is provided by Wi-fi, EDGE 2.5G, GPRS, and WAP 2.0.
A 3.5mm earphone jack is included.
Touchscreen input plus a virtual QWERTY keyboard for browsing and text input.
Typically, the battery will last 46~60 hours on standby.
The phone comes java enabled, allowing its designers to include java apps and games preinstalled, and also allows new ones to be installed.
Media comes in the form of a 1.9MP camera, a camcorder, a eBook reader, analog TV, Bluetooth with A2DP, a FM radio, internet chat room programs, as naturally a MP3 player and MP4 player.

Pros and cons of the X10 include:

Pros
The main menu allows a great deal of customization due to the phone using a Android like system.
Eye strain is not a problem as the screen comes in at 3.8 inches and is quite bright and clear.
Its pre installed java apps work very well, and include some very nice ones such as Google maps and Snaptu.
Online syncing for your phonebook, calendar, and your tasks is available.
Internet came in strong and clear.
Non proprietary earphone jacks that are 3.5mm are not that common and are nice to have.

Cons
Resembling but not actually being an Android phone is a off putting if you are expecting typical performance from an Android based phone.
Though able to access email, I found its email client not very user friendly.

Not a smartphone or Google phone in any true sense of the word, the X10 still is a nice mobile phone that many will be happy to own.

Price. US$117.76
