July 6, 2010 - PRLog -- It is impossible not to notice that more and more brands are coming out with QWERTY keyboard designed phones.  Trying to tap into this trend, the makers of the S600 have developed a phone that they hope will perhaps draw your attention to it.  So how well does it match up well with other QWERTY designs?

Simple is the adjective that would most likely come to mind to any user of this phone.  Whether its apps and media features, or its design (Blackberry like with rounded corners and small screen), or even its UI (icon based with few sub menus) seems to be made to be as uncomplicated as possible.  If you are looking for other features besides being simple, then there really isn’t much more to say.  What the designers seem to have wanted (and to have made) is a solid phone with QWERTY input that can be quite handy for business people in need of a low priced phone, and who don’t need the latest gizmos at a very low price.

Specifications for the S600 include:

The outer casing made from of CE certified PCP plastic.
It is a QWERTY phone, meaning a full QWERTY keyboard is included for typing (no touchscreen however).
Phone navigation is done using a trackpad (much like a trackball but touch based).
The phone’s weight is 90 grams.
The phone’s measurements are L103xW56xH13 (length x width x height).
It comes with a resolution of 240x320 displaying on a 2.0 inch screen.
It comes unlocked from any carrier on all 4 GSM bands used worldwide.
Dual SIM ports with dual standby are built into the phone.
A standard 3.5mm earphone jack, usable with any non proprietary 3.5mm earphone, is built into the phone.
It is limited to accessing the internet using GRPS or WAP 2.0.
Battery life on standby should last a user up to 70 hours.
The phone’s addons come via Java applets, an MP3 and MP4 player, an analog TV, a FM radio, PDA tools (to do list, calendar, ect) and a digital camera and camcorder.

A couple of the pros and cons the S600 people may notice might include.

Pros
This phone, as stated before, is very easy to use, and has very little about it that would confuse a user.
Every program and addon is very solid and useful.
At less than 75 dollars, the price is very low.

Cons
It would have been better if the makers had included a trackball rather than a trackpad, as the trackpad is a little hard to get used to at first.
If you are used to faster network access to the internet, this phone will seem very slow for you.
For people looking for more in a phone, its simplicity might be a little too much.

For its price and simplicity, there very likely is a market for the phone like the S600 .  If that is not what you are looking for however, you are better off looking elsewhere for your QWERTY phone.

Price.  $71.88
