June 25, 2010 - PRLog -- iPhone clones are a dime a dozen these days.  So in an attempt to grab your attention, the Air Phone NO1 makers have come out with the thinnest one ever made.  How does it measure up though to the crowd?

As the name implies, being thin is the central reason for the Air Phone NO1.  And at only 8mm or 0.31 inches, being called thin is an understatement.  This phone however that a few standard features seen so often in clone iPhones had to be skipped.  In terms of being a cloned phone, it is still a very handy mobile device, but its lack of some features might put some off.

Some basic specs for the Air Phone include:.

At 9mm (.31 inches) thickness, it is the thinnest iPhone clone to have been released.
It is a PDA style touchscreen phone (with icons and a virtual QWERTY keyboard for input.
The phone’s total weight, including a installed battery, is 140 grams.
The phone’s total measurements are L114xW62xH8 (length x width x height).
It comes with a battery that is preinstalled, which can not be removed or changed unless you open up the phone.
The size of the screen is a largish 3.5 inches, has a resolution of 320x480, and is TFT.
It comes unlocked on the 4 GSM bands used worldwide.
Only a single SIM can be used with the phone, and the SIM port is built into the side of the phone.
CE quality PCP plastic is used in the construction of the phone.
A standard 2.5mm earphone jack is built into the casing.
Internet on the mobile phone comes via EDGE networks, GPRS and WAP 2.0, as well as Wi-Fi B/G hotspots.
Battery life from on standby typically lasts 50 to 70 hours.
Owners of the phone can add more programs or games with the built in java platform in addition of the games and apps already preinstalled.
Extra media options include: MSN and Skype instant messengers, a camera, a camcorder, an eBook reader, an analog TV receiver, a FM radio, and a MP3 player and MP4 player.

Here are a few of the pros and cons of the Air Phone NO1.

Pros
The iPhone on which this phone is based is in fact thicker on (0.46 inches vs 0.31 inches), but the Air Phone still manages to fell solid in the hand and not at all cheap of plasticy.
The screen really is quite decent at 3.5 inches and with a very nice resolution of 320x480.
Media such as the MP3 and MP4 player are very intuitive to use, and the 2.5mm earphone jack is very nice to have in case you want to get a good quality earphone to use with the phone.
Changing the SIM card out is much easier in this model than others, as the port is built into the side rather than under the back cover.
Accessing the internet on the phone using Wi-Fi hotspots, or on the EDGE network, was quite easy and was reasonably speedy.

Cons
Since it lacks a removable battery, this phone mimics one of the biggest complaints that people have for the iPhone (though it can be argued this lack is necessary to make it very thin.
Though it is not important to some, this phone’s lack of the iPhone clone’s standard dual SIM ports may put off some buyers.
This phone has a dearth of pre installed apps when compared to other iPhone clones (though this can be rectified by locating and installing your own).

Those looking for a really thin phone on a budget, or those who are in the market for a iPhone clone really should consider giving the Air Phone NO1 a try.
