Share Our Shoes & NCCU Basketball Coach LeVelle Moton partner for "Share Our Shoes Rally".

Jan. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- LeVelle Moton and NCCU have joined forces with SOS to collect new & used shoes to help reach the goal of providing 1 million pairs of shoes to Haiti earthquake victims. SOS and Coach LeVelle Moton hope to make awareness of the still need for those still suffering in Haiti and are encouraging other colleges and organizations as well to get involved.

Jennifer Pierce, Founder of Share Our Says say's "There is still a tremendous need for the basic necessities of life such as shoes in Haiti.  "This is a simple way folks can help without having to reach in their wallet...Just look in their closets" Coach LeVelle Moton says " If I can use my position as Head Coach at Central to help raise awareness about something as simple as shoes...why wouldn't I?" "Plus, Basketball and shoes go hand in hand...I know I personally own over 200 pairs of shoes and have plenty of shoes to donate. I feel honored and proud to be appointed an official spokesperson of Share Our Shoes and look forward to reaching our goal of 1 million pairs for Haiti"

The event will kick off with several of NCCU's student leaders and academic administrators "sharing the shoes off their feet".  Several other events, including "Highest Heels" and best "Rap, Rhyme & Song" (about Sharing Shoes), contests will also be held during the event.
Share Our Shoes official spokesman, NCCU Men's Basketball coach LeVelle Moton will also appear at the event and give a speech of his personal interest in helping Haiti.

Sponsors of the "Share Our Shoes Rally" include Omega Sports, Fleet Feet Sports, Foot Solutions and Sonic Drive In.  These sponsors have all generously donated gift cards to be used as raffle prizes during the event to raise funds for SOS.  100% of proceeds from the raffles and 10% of the proceeds from the sponsor's table sales will benefit Share Our Shoes mission to provide shoes.
