Share Our Shoes 2nd Annual "Back-2-School Shoe-Mania" Distribution Event & Back To School Party, S

July 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Share Our Shoes is proud to announce that it has partnered with Raleigh Rescue Mission, Sonic Drive-In and Shoe Carnival for the Second Annual Back-2-School Shoe-Mania, to provide new or gently worn shoes to area children in need of Back-2-School shoes.

"Purchasing shoes for children is a big expense, and for many in our society it is a financial hardship. We are seeking to assist families such as these." says Jennifer Pierce, founding director of Share Our Shoes.

Who Is Invited: Families in need of back-2-school shoes (registration required, see below), those wanting to donate shoes they no longer wear and anyone wanting to celebrate 'Back-2-School'.
Cost: FREE!
Date: Saturday August 6th, 2011
Time: 10am - 2pm
Where: Moore Square in downtown Raleigh (Moore Square Park)

In addition to providing back-to-school shoes for children in need, there will be TONS of FREE[ family-friendly activities and vendors, including:

•   Bounce Houses and Rides, courtesy of Interactive Playgrounds Inc.
•   Children’s Interactive Concert provided by Hearts & Motion Creative Entertainment
•   Free Ice Cream from Frosty's
•   Free Raffles every 20 minutes
•   Free wacky pack kids meal for every child from Sonic Drive-In
•   Shoe Carnival has gift cards to raffle (Free Raffle)
•    Stormy (from the Carolina Hurricanes) will raffle shoes of Jeff Skinner, and signed by Jeff Skinner of Hurricanes!
•   and MUCH, MUCH more!

For families needing Back-2-School shoes for their children - Registration is required.  Please visit http://shareourshoes.org/index.php?/needback-2-schoolshoe... and fill out the online registration form to receive a voucher to present at the event.  Registration is also available by calling Share Our Shoes at (919)805-3007.  Note - children MUST BE present to receive shoes.

Shoe Donations Needed - SOS desperately needs shoes donated to ensure they can meet the expected demand.  SOS is expecting to have over 3000 children that need shoes and currently only have 1500 pairs ready for distribution.  SOS is accepting all sizes and styles of new or gently used men's, women's and children's shoes.  Shoes can be donated at SOS in Raleigh and at Triangle-area Shoe Carnival locations.  A complete list of official SOS drop-box locations can be found at http://www.shareourshoes.org.  Share Our Shoes is also asking that anyone attending the Shoe-Mania event bring shoes with them that they do not wear or that do not fit them. The YMCA will have busses parked around Moore Square where shoe donations can be dropped off, in hopes of filling up the buses for Shoe-Mania Part 2 in Durham August 18th. Sonic will be giving a free cherry lime aid, Sonic Burger, or Ice Cream Cone coupon for EVERY pair of shoes donated!
