Dec. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in September 2015 to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) after its expiration in December 2015. The process leading to the adoption of the SDGs has been adjudged as one of the most participatory in the history of the United Nations. This process unlike the formation of the MDGs saw the United Nations and its partners including State parties and non-state actors engaged in national and regional consultations to address the needs and views of multi-stakeholders to be included in the post MDGs agenda.

The sustainable development goals gaveled on the 25th of September will go into effect January 1 2016. SDGsNigeria, a Reading Hamlets initiative, is working to popularize the SDGs in Nigeria. We want everyone in Nigerin to know what the global goals are about. We will be having a Twitter chat on Thursday , December 17th on Goal 2 of the SDGs, which is end hunger. We want everyone to join this chat so that they can learn about the goals and think of solutions to our problems. Don't miss it, Mark your calendar and join in on Thursday.
