Reports on Russian trade in goods with South American countries in Q1 2020

MOSCOW, Russian Federation - May 30, 2020 - PRLog -- Russian Foreign Trade has released the reports on Russia's foreign trade in goods with the countries of South America in the first quarter of 2020.

A brief review of Russia's trade with South American countries in the 1st quarter of 2020

The share of South American countries in Russia's total trade (exports and imports) rose from 1.402% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 1.405% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The share of South American countries in Russia's total exports declined from 0.728% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 0.549% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The share of South American countries in Russia's total imports rose from 2.729% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 2.838% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The major trading partners of Russia in South America in the 1st quarter of 2020:

- The top five Russia's trade partners in South America in the 1st quarter of 2020 were Brazil (0.5419% of Russia's total foreign trade), Ecuador (0.3102%), Chile (0.1705%), Argentina (0.1408%), and Paraguay (0.0954%);
- The top five Russia's export markets in South America in the 1st quarter of 2020 were Brazil (0.3291% of Russia's total exports), Ecuador (0.0818%), Peru (0.0603%), Colombia (0.0249%), and Argentina (0.0190%);
- The top five Russia's import suppliers from South America in the 1st quarter of 2020 were Brazil (0.8982% of Russia's total imports), Ecuador (0.6924%), Chile (0.4274%), Argentina (0.3446%), and Paraguay (0.2459%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of South America in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019:

- The share of Argentina in Russia's total exports declined 2.7-fold from 0.0506% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.0190% in the 1st quarter of the 2020.
