BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Sept. 11, 2023 - PRLog -- KidSpirit (http://kidspiritonline.com), the award-winning online magazine by and for youth to explore life's big questions, launches its fall issue on the theme "Now and Then." This season, young contributors ages 11 to 17 offer creative work on our connection to the past, present, and future.

Each issue of KidSpirit revolves around a Big Question posed by the all-youth Editorial Board. This fall,, the editors ask, "Are there constants in our lives or is everything impermanent?" A young writer from Australia responds by meditating on the profound lessons of her work in a thrift shop.

Other pieces released today include an article on history's relevance to our personal and collective lives, a contributor's reflection on visiting his former primary school, a co-written essay on the grounding and wisdom found in ancient stories and traditions, and a piece about the unwavering support of true friends. Also just published are a review of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, a dystopian short story that takes us to the future and back again, and a video recitation of Sara Teasdale's poem "Spring Rain."

Throughout the season, KidSpirit will continue to publish writing, poetry, artwork, and video by youth on this powerful theme. In Features, writers take various paths to examine how we reconstruct the past in literature, film, and the study of history. An Awesome Moments piece will delve into the impact of a beloved pet's arrival, while the Interfaith Connections department will feature a young writer's perspective on the enduring importance of a mystical tradition. In Media, young authors will review the movies Hidden Figures and Creed III. The Fiction and Poetry departments will showcase more creative writing on the topic from lyrical young authors around the world.

Each issue of KidSpirit features additional wisdom from one adult with expertise in the theme in a column called PerSpectives. This season, readers will hear from Phil Cousineau, an award-winning writer, filmmaker, and speaker who focuses on myth in the modern world.
