BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - Feb. 6, 2024 - PRLog -- After a glacially slow recovery post-Covid, Asia specialist Bamboo Travel reports that enquiries for holidays to China are now increasing month by month, and forward bookings for the next 12 months are up to 60% on pre-pandemic levels.

Comments Robin Ball, Director of Bamboo Travel: "The rate of interest in travel to countries across Asia varied a lot as we came out of the pandemic, with China being by far the slowest.

"But that seems to have completely changed in the last quarter of 2023, with a surge in new enquiries for China and Tibet, and 2024 is going from strength to strength.  Our customers, typically, plan a long way ahead for their dream holiday, to ensure that every aspect is planned to the last detail."

Bamboo Travel offers a choice of 23 different itineraries to China, from 12 to 20 days in duration, and five of which include travelling through neighbouring countries.

One of the most popular, is the 12-day 'Highlights of China', which is perfect for the first-time visitor.

The classic tour takes in some of the cultural, historical, and scenic highlights of this intriguing country.

The journey starts in the north of the country to marvel at the historical treasures of Beijing, and a visit to the Great Wall at Mutiyanu.

Next up is an overnight sleeper train to Xi'an, where the Terracotta Warriors await on their eternal watch.  The mysterious figures, dating from approximately the late 200s BCE, were discovered in 1974 by local farmers in Lintong County, outside Xi'an, and they vary in height according to their rank, the tallest being the generals!

Departing Guilin, enjoy a leisurely four-hour cruise down the picturesque Li River, to Yangshuo – a mountainous region popular with climbers – passing stunning scenery on the way, as the boat meanders between the dramatic forested peaks, and past bamboo fishing villages.

Returning to Guilin, next is a regional flight to Shanghai, for a final two nights and including a private, guided city tour.

The holiday costs from £3650 per person (two sharing a room).  This includes international (Emirates) and regional flights, 10-nights' B&B (hotels, plus the overnight train in an ensuite luxury cabin), six lunches, activities/sightseeing, entrance fees, and guides.
