Follow on Google News | Young Professionals To Sleep On theStreets in Support of Covenant House California and HomeleNationwide “Sleep Out” Will Take Place in Twelve Cities Across America
“We appreciate the young professionals who are willing to make this commitment,” This third Young Professionals Sleep Out continues a nationwide movement that follows a November effort that included over 500 executives who slept out on the streets in the United States and Canada and raised over $4 million. “There are literally thousands of homeless kids in California who need help right now,” said Bedrossian. “They are often victims of violence, abuse, or broken families or in many cases, have turned eighteen and aged out of foster care with no place to go. The money and awareness raised during this sleep out will send a message that we believe in these youth and their dreams for a better life.“ “This event doesn’t just raise much need money,” said Bedrossian. “It is a show of solidarity with homeless youth everywhere. We want them to know that we care for them and want to help.” In addition to California, young professionals will be sleeping out at other Covenant House locations around the country. The Sleep Out: Young Professional Edition in Los Angeles will begin at 6 pm, at the Covenant House California campus at 1325 N. Western, Los Angeles, CA 90027.
